I was bitten by a Snake—Well, more like a Viper
Something strange is going on... albeit friggin' awesome... still a little strange.
A few months ago I blogged about the new 2020 Mid-engine Chevy Corvette. Since then I’ve heard a rumor of other mid-engine designs leaking out, from the Nissan GTR, to the Lexus LC. However, none of the aforementioned cars are going to raise more Hell than the latest announcement from Dodge.
The Viper is quite possibly coming back—and you guessed it, with a mid-engine design.
Man, if this dream comes true it will be an Italian supercar destroying Texas Chainsaw Massacre on wheels! Instead of a raucous naturally aspirated V10 engine, the reborn halo car may feature a new V8 engine instead. In fact, two engines may be on the docket: a naturally aspirated V8 engine, and a supercharged V8 mill. 550 horsepower and 700-plus hp have been reported as ballpark figures.
I can’t even imagine having 700 HP perfectly balanced under my seat and at my feet. For now, I’m going to try not to think about it. When I heard about the new “Vette, I couldn’t sleep for a week.
This is gonna wreak havoc on me. I just know it!
